Art Research Office
The Art Research Office (or ARO for short) is a gallery that focuses on supporting research and exploration in the arts and fostering of new artists. Tasked with developing the branding for ARO, the overall design inspiration came from the minimal and institutionalized aesthetic of government offices.
For ARO, a style was created that had a serious institutional quality, but was designed to be flexible to showcase the mission of fostering new creativity. Three versions of the icon were developed, a single line weight, a solid fill, and the transparency color overlay version. All based around the font used in the logo text. In addition to the branding, a treatment of the Tumblr site was developed, so that the current gallery work or featured exhibit would predominate the style. The icon and link colors are changeable depending on the current exhibit.
